Looking Back
Angel Cheeks

I have waited a whole year to do this paintng. It was a commission for a friends birthday. She wanted Peonies flowers. There were none available. I looked almost everywhere. Fineally found three stems. The flower is delicate and not much definition. Their stems are hardy so that gave me a stronger foundation for the flowers to be painted. My background is light and pastel to support the pink flowers. The painting "Angel Cheeks" is 3' x 3' and was painted in oils on canvas.

Penny's House

Penny the dog lives here in San Anselmo. This painting is one of my House Portraits. These are commissioned and take about two or three days to create. Most of the times I stand in front of a home and do the painting right there. Sometimes if more details are needed I will take a few detail photos and finish the painting at home. The purpose of the House Portrait is not to be to architure real but more of an impressionist painting. These paintings are great memory to own.

Art Center Two

Today, I decited that I would do a good thing. My friend John who owns Art Center Two is down sizing his stor and is moving out of the Cheda Building into smaller work space for his framing and art materials. I decited to do a painting of his store front. This will be a nice memory painting for him to have.
As I started the painting I painted a big mess. There i realized that out of messes we make we then can create something beautiful. I continued painting and finished it in about four hours.

Ship In The Distance

When the sky turned blue and the ocean was slamming up against the rocks, I saw a ship on the horizon. That’s what made this painting work
